Logging into a smartphone using a facial scan or fingerprint is no longer as impressive. Most people are moving away from classic passwords in favour of logging in with the uniqueness of their body, but the use of biometrics is already making its way into banking. Buying bagels using an iris scanner or using a payment card with a fingerprint slot is not a scenario for a science fiction film, but a reality.

From the beginning: what is biometrics?

Biometrics is itself a technique for measuring living beings. Currently, in recent applications, there has been a focus on methods for automatically recognizing people based on their unique physical characteristics, for example

fingerprints,
the sound of the voice,
image of the iris or facial or hand geometry.
The potential of biometrics has put it within the b2b email database poland reach of banks, which have used it to verify the identity of customers.

Pay per iris: is it possible?

Is it possible to leave home without a wallet, card or even a phone and then pay in a restaurant? Although the idea may seem amazing, the Polish company Payeye is proving to the world that nothing is impossible by now launching version 2.0 of its solution.

There is no other person in the world who has the same iris as us. Every person's iris has up to 256 unique features, which allows for the creation of an accurate algorithm for identifying a person. The founder of the Payeye startup, Daniel Jarząb, realizing the uniqueness of this small organ, decided to exploit its potential to the fullest. The entrepreneur has created his own ecosystem consisting of eyePOS payment devices, an innovative electronic wallet and algorithms that process the iris of the eye into a biometric pattern (PayEye code), used to identify the user when making payments.

PayEye 2.0 - News

Two years after the launch of the payment program, and more specifically on June 24, 2022, PayEye has introduced a new service that uses up to two types of biometric data to make payments. This time, in addition to identification through the iris of the eye, facial recognition is also possible . In addition, the new service provides you with eyePOS 2.0 biometric terminals and PayEye 2.0 mobile application
with the possibility of attaching a card with the Visa or Mastercard logo. This will allow payments to be made without the need to previously have a virtual wallet.
