Gather all the contacts you can
If you've done this before and promotion isn't new to you, you probably have a decent list of contacts you can reach out to. If not, you can go to the venue and ask them to send you their media list. In most cases, the venue will have a list ready to send to out-of-town bands, so it shouldn't be a problem for them to send you one as canada business email list well. This list usually includes email addresses and phone numbers for music journalists, editors, bloggers, radio show hosts, etc. Plus, this is a great time to use your own contacts within your community to grow this list as much as you can.
You can also look into partnerships with local businesses, organizations, influencers, or artists who have a similar target audience. They can help promote your show to their fans, and you can reciprocate by promoting their work as well. Whether it’s asking your other touring friends or even your management if you have them, these people want to see you succeed! Music and community go hand in hand. You’re not in this alone, so don’t be afraid to use your relationships in the industry. If there’s ever a time to do it, it’s now.

Go to your contacts
You probably saw this coming… You need to make sure your show gets as much coverage as possible. A couple of months before your show is the time to start contacting everyone on the list you compiled in the previous step and getting yourself on all the local concert calendars. Doing this in advance is crucial, as it gives them time to get everything ready without stressing out at the last minute. Not to mention, the longer your name is out there, the more people will have time to see it.
Lastly, and it goes without saying, be kind. Be sincere, humble, and respectful of their time. If you can offer them free tickets, even better. They don't have to go out of their way to help you, but if they do, you should be eternally grateful. In this business, relationships are everything. If they remember you for how kind and friendly you were, they'll have no problem helping you again in the future.
